Terms & Policies

The short version.

Our terms in plain language. Your signed agreement for each service has the full detail and governs if anything here differs.

All prices are in CAD, plus GST.
We accept e-transfer to create@bloccreativeco.ca, cash, pre-authorized debit and cheque.
Unpaid balances are charged 0.5% per week. Failed or returned payments may carry bank or processor fees.
Work may pause if an invoice is more than 7 days overdue.
Brand identity and websites: 80% when you sign, 20% before launch or final files.
Social media: monthly, in advance, invoiced on the 1st. Your first invoice covers your first month plus setup.
Custom merch: 100% when you sign your order, because every piece is custom made for you.
Brand, web and social proposals are valid for 30 days. Custom merch order proposals are valid for 14 days.
Brand, web and social: please sign and pay within 30 days of accepting a proposal, or pricing and availability may be requoted.
Brand and web: either of us can end a project in writing. Your first payment is not refunded once work begins. Completed work beyond what you have paid is invoiced at our current rate.
Social media: 3-month minimum, then month to month. Cancel or downgrade with 30 days written notice to create@bloccreativeco.ca. If you cancel during the minimum, the rest of the minimum is still payable.
Custom merch: every order is made for you, so it cannot be cancelled, returned or refunded once approved.
Brand and web projects include one round of changes. Extra rounds, new concepts after approval or a change in direction are billed at our current rate.
Anything outside your accepted proposal is quoted before we start it.
Merch designs include one round of revisions. Extra revisions are $150/hr.
Timelines are estimates and depend on content, access and approvals arriving on time.
Brand and web projects with no response for 30 days pause. Projects paused more than 60 days may include a $250 restart fee.
Merch production is 3 to 4 weeks from signing.
Content sent for review is approved if we do not hear back within 3 business days.
Unused posts, stories and shoots do not roll over.
Reschedule a shoot with 24 hours notice. The first reschedule of each shoot is free, then $250. Weather, illness, vehicle or equipment problems and emergencies never count against you.
Shoots within 50 km of Edmonton are included. Beyond that, travel is quoted first.
Ad spend is billed to you by the ad platform and never marked up.
Brand and web: everything stays ours until your balance is paid in full, then your final files are yours to use for your business. Working and source files can be released for a one-time fee.
Social media: we own the content we create. Once paid, you have a licence to use your final published content for your business on your channels.
Merch: design files stay with Bloc Creative Co. unless purchased.
You confirm you have the rights to anything you give us.
Mockups are digital renderings, not exact replicas. Colour, size and placement may vary slightly.
Supplier defects or misprints: tell us right away. Replacement or refund follows the supplier policy.
A care guide comes with every order. Damage from improper care is not a defect.
Shipping and delivery are quoted per order and shown on your proposal as Shipping and handling.
$300 minimum order for new clients.
Google search setup is included on websites. Rankings, traffic and results are not guaranteed.
Social reach, followers, engagement, leads and sales are not guaranteed.
We may share finished work in our portfolio and on social, with credit to your business. Tell us in writing if you would rather we did not.
We are not liable for indirect losses or for platform and third-party failures. Our liability is limited to the fees paid under the agreement (social: fees paid in the 3 months before the issue).

Who we are

Bloc Creative Co. is a creative studio in Edmonton, Alberta. Questions about your information go to create@bloccreativeco.ca.

What we collect

What you send us through our forms: name, email, phone, project details and any files you upload.
What we need to work together: proposals, contracts, invoices and project notes.
Basic site data from cookies, such as pages visited, device type and general location.

How we use it

To reply, quote and book calls.
To deliver your project, send invoices and keep you updated.
To understand how our site is used and improve it.

We never sell your information.

Who we share it with

Only the services that help us run Bloc, and only what they need: our website platform (Squarespace), our client portal for proposals, contracts and invoices (Dubsado), our payment processor, and, for merch orders, the suppliers and decorators who make your order. Some of these services may store data outside Canada.

Cookies

When you first visit, you can accept all cookies, decline non-essential cookies, or choose which ones to allow. You can change your choice any time with the Cookie Preferences button on the site.

Keeping it safe

We keep your information only as long as we need it for your project and our business and tax records, and we limit who can access it.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Email create@bloccreativeco.ca and we will reply within 30 days.
